Tea tree essential oil is well known for its purifying, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.  These properties make Tea tree essential oil a great go-to oil for cleaning.  It can also be used to cleanse and purify the skin and nails and to support a healthy-looking complexion. Tea Tree leaves have been used by Aboriginal peoples in Australia for centuries for a cooling effect.  They would apply crushed leaves directly to the skin.  Tea Tree can be used on occasional skin irritations to soothe the skin.  Diffusing Tea Tree essential oil will help purify and freshen the air.

Health Tip of the Month:  Health and Balance

Being healthy is more than not having an illness or disease.  Additionally, It includes maintaining optimal wellbeing and feelings of wholeness and vitality.  Our bodies let us know when we are out of balance because we usually become sick or begin experiencing symptoms of illness.  These are signs from our bodies telling us that we need to pay attention and make adjustments in our lives to regain balance.  Get into the habit of practicing a daily routine that addresses body, mind, and spirit.  Quiet your mind through prayer, meditation, contemplation or just sitting somewhere quiet for 20 minutes. Eat a well-balanced nutritious diet that consists of foods that are fresh and not prepackaged or prepared. A balanced diet consists of a daily combination of foods, beverages, and herbs that include all six different tastes i.e., bitter, salty, sweet, sour, pungent, and astringent. A regular and consistent exercise routine done 3-4 times per week is essential.  Physical exercise also benefits the mind and emotional well-being. An exercise regimen should include cardiovascular activities such as walking, running, biking, or dancing; activities that increase flexibility such as yoga or Thai chi and exercises that provide strength training like weightlifting.

Meditation Tip of the Month:

Chakras are energy centers/wheels associated with specific organs.  Balanced chakras maintain good

health and wellness.  Chakras transmit and receive energy.  Too much/too little energy affects the way you feel, think, and/or act.  The body has 12 chakras of which 7 are primary.  The Solar Plexus Chakra is located just above the navel.  The Chakra is represented by the color yellow.  It is governed by the pancreas and affects the following:  digestive system, adrenals, stomach, muscles, and lower back.  The Solar Plexus Chakra is linked to confidence, self-control, learning, inner harmony and joy, and radiance.  An unbalanced Solar Plexus chakra can result in a lack of memory and concentration, fear, being uncentered, eating disorders, insomnia, and sugar addictions.  When the Solar Plexus chakra is balanced we feel centered in body, mind, and spirit; relaxed; outgoing; cheerful; expressive; spontaneous and a strong sense of personal power.  We show respect for ourselves and others.  There is trust in your gut feelings.  You welcome challenges and experiencing new things.  There are several things you can do to balance the Solar Plexus chakra.  Eat foods that are yellow in color, wear yellow clothing, and/or carry a yellow gemstone.  It is also a good idea to have a Chakra Balancing session to clear negativity and balance the chakra.*
